Greeting People / Answering Questions

  • All pieces are individually priced. Artist profiles are in binders.
  • Notebook available, please feel free to jot down anything notable – guests and where they are from, feedback for artists, etc.
  • Ask people to join the email list (back work table).

Selling

  • Record everything on the daily sheet (folder under the workbench in the back room)
  • To hold: Place a yellow dot to hold for a few days. Take an email or phone number.
  • To sell: Place a red dot to show a piece is sold, on the bottom right of the piece, and on the price list in each binder. We can collect cash, IBAN transfer, MBWay or Wise. Cash bag is in the storage room, blue quilted bag with a turtle. Instructions for transfers are in folder.
  • Exhibition pieces normally remain until the show ends, but we can make exceptions.
  • Smaller works, books, cards and unhung pieces can be taken with the buyer immediately.
  • Wrapping is in the storeroom; scissors, tape (and other office supplies) are under the workbench in the back room.
  • If receipt is needed, please send me the customer’s name and email and I will email from the gallery account. If the customer needs a fiscal receipt, then also ask them for their NIF and associated name. I will register the sale with Finanças and email them confirmation.

Closing

  • Complete daily register sheet and place cash in the turtle bag in the store room.
  • Ensure back door is closed and shutters are bolted top and bottom and ‘wedged.’
  • Check that no water is running in the kitchen or toilet, and lights are off.
  • Stop music and turn off speakers.
  • Bring in sign boards from the street.
  • Switch off all lights (front door / alcove / second room / display case / third room).
  • Close and bolt window shutters with all five sliding bolts.
  • If it’s not already on, switch on display case light, switch is under the red shutters, in the middle.
  • Close and bolt (top and bottom) right side of main door. (This is really important as otherwise door will jam.)
  • From outside, pull the other door until it latches well and double-lock with key.
  • Put key back in lockbox and scramble.
