Long ago, in Vancouver, I was entranced by a display of fused glass pendants, and bought one. It was a powerful influence – after emigrating with my husband from British Columbia to Portugal I took the plunge and acquired my own small glass kiln. It soon acquired a big brother as I outgrew it, as well as the small work space in our home!

Working with such a challenging material is a joy and a life-long learning process, in which I’m helped by the fusing community worldwide and by taking online courses by renowned glass artists. I have exhibited for many years at the former Artesis Gallery, and now at Galeria das Borboletas in Tavira.

I create decorative art glass as well as jewellery, and never tire of exploring the mutability of glass as it turns from solid to liquid under intense heat, creating new shapes, textures and colours.
